Luis Alejandro García

With more than 30 national and international awards to his credit, Luis Alejandro García (Tenerife) is one of the most awarded Spanish guitarists of his generation. Praised as an interpreter who combines 'virtuosisy with exceptional musical nuance in his playing' (Enric Madriguera, Russell Cleveland Director of Guitar Studies at UT Dallas), has won First Prizes at competitions such as the ‘José Tomás – Villa de Petrer’ Competition, Coria Guitar Competition or El Primer Palau Prize.

He has given concerts and masterclasses in a large part of the Spanish geography, Germany, Austria, the United States, Andorra, Chile, or Argentina, and has played with orchestras such as the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Gran Canaria Philarmonic Orchestra or the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, together with conductors such as Karel Mark Chichon, Xavier Puig or Alessandro Palumbo. In 2018 he released his first CD, 'Lazos sobre el Atlántico', produced by JSM Guitar Records. He is a member of Canary Guitar Quartet, with which he has been internationally awarded, in addition to having released their first record, '21'.

He graduated in Guitar with honors, as well as in Musicology with the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award in Tenerife and has received lessons with numerous world-class teachers, such as Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Marco Tamayo, Carlo Marchione or Judicaël Perroy. He completed his master studies with honors at Esmuc (Barcelona) under the tutelage of Àlex Garrobé. His next commitments include tours in the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico or Italy, as well as his debut at Teatro Monumental next to the ORTVE in 2022. Luis Alejandro García plays on Vicente Carrillo guitars and Knobloch Strings.
