Samuel Mikláš (*1983) is a graduate of the Nitra Elementary Art School (Štefan Madari), the Bratislava Conservatory (Mgr. art. Štefan Gyöpös, doc. Jozef Kopelman), and the Prague Conservatory (prof. Jindřich Pazdera). He studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of doc. Alexander Jablokov. At the Academy, he attended a course in Historical Performance Practice in the class of Peter Zajíček.
He has performed as a guest artist with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic, with whom he has given numerous concerts throughout the Czech Republic and Germany (Berlin Philharmonic, Konzerthaus Berlin, …). He is a violinist with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and the concertmaster of the Nitra Chamber Orchestra ZOE.
He regularly premieres new works by Slovak composers (J. Iršai, M. Lejava, V. Graffinger, L. Borzík, G. Regeš, …) whether as a soloist or as a member of the orchestra in collaboration with soloists such as Milan Paľa, Juraj Tomka, Kristína Chalmovská, Eva Šušková, Magdaléna Bajúszová, and others. He also specializes in historically informed performance of early music on period instruments.
He serves as a violin instructor at the Department of Music of the Faculty of Education at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra and as a church musician at the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul (Franciscans) in Nitra and at Nitra Cathedral.
