MERTZ FOR 2

Date:
Tuesday, 23 June, 2026 - 17:00
Place:
Klarisky Concert Hall

This year marks the 220th anniversary of the birth and the 170th anniversary of the death of J. K. Mertz, a native of Bratislava and one of the most significant guitarists and composers of early Romantic guitar music. On Tuesday, June 23, at 5:00 p.m. at Klarisky Concert Hall, young guitarists Timotej Streďanský (SK) and László Szegedi (HU) will perform, presenting not only compositions by authors from their home countries but also Mertz’s music.

Before them, exceptional talents from an even younger age group will take the stage - talented students from elementary arts schools who have won significant awards in children’s guitar competitions during the current school year: Šimon Horník, Dominik Krajmer, Lilien Ondrášiková and Veronika Figedyová.
